Surgery

I'll try to write as much as I can! This is the third day after my surgery and I'm still feeling a bit light-headed from the painkillers. On Friday morning, I headed out to Burnaby Hospital at around 7:30 in order to check in at Admitting by 8:10. We ended up getting there at 8:00, but the few extra minutes came in handy when dealing with the staff. Maybe it was because she was having a bad day, or was at the end of a long shift, but the person who checked me in was quite the character. After I handed her my care card, she looked around me asking for the patient - as if I couldn't possibly be the patient. Oh well. I confirmed that it was me who was being admitted, then she proceeded to take down my information. She asked me to spell my name first, and after I said "Tan", she asked for the spelling. "T-A-N." "N?" "N as in Nancy." "Oh, you go by Nancy?" Who would make that mistake?? Anyway, the rest of the information ...

Questions

Science has proven that the male brain is different than the female brain. Statistics show that females mature faster than males. Females also peak earlier, academically; while males peak earlier sexually. All of these base differences would explain the variations in decisions and probably behav...

Delirium, Departed, Distressed

I won't deny that it's been yet another long stretch of time since I last updated. Who knew that a relaxing work term at home could be so packed with activities and long hours at the office! Unfortunately, my memory doesn't serve me quite as well these days, but I'll try to recall as much as possible from Thanksgiving weekend. Festivities kicked off on Friday night after I left work early in order to make the traditional holiday dinner for my family. The table was missing a turkey, but nobody complained in the presence of a succulent ham baked in pineapple juice. Slices of ham, accompanied by large helpings of salad and yams ensured everyone's tummy was stuffed. Of course, there was still room for a delicious dessert of hot chocolate mousse! After dinner, I had the pleasure of driving to the airport to pickup our guest for the weekend. Global warming certainly had positive effects for the rest of the holiday, with sunshine peeking out from every corner of V...
